ACADEMICS

ADMISSION

1. No candidate is admitted without a test/interview except nursery.

2. For class nursery a candidate is judged on the basis of observation cum test and interaction. For all other classes i.e. from class 1st and onwards a formal written test is conducted in language (English and Hindi) mathematics science and general awareness to check lingual proficiency, mathematical ability and General Knowledge assessing the suitability of admission in the class.

3. An interview will be held after the written test.

4. The age for admission to nursery and primary classes on 1st April is hereby given as under.

5.Candidate are required to submit the following document at the time of admission.

a. Three stamp size photography.
b. Original copy of the birth certificate/ transfer certificate.

6.Admission are the candidate will be cancelled if T.C. is not submitted within 15 days of admission.


WITHDRAWAL

1. Tuition fee for the full session during which a student is willing to withdrawal shall have to paid on withdrawal of the student.

2. Student can be asked to leave the school for the following reasons:

a. Indiscipline.
b. Non-adherence to school rule and regulation.
c. Delay/Repetitive failure in payment of fee.
d. Absent without any intimation.
e. Unsatisfactory progress in academics.
f. Failing twice in the same class.


CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

1. The school has a well defined house system namely Tagore House. Nehru House, Subhash House, Gandhi House to create an combative atmosphere among the students.

2. Programmes such as debate competition, Easy competition, Drawing Competition, Rangoli Competition, Painting competition, Quiz competition, Dance and song competition, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Cricket, Football, Basket ball and Sports are conducted.

3. Annual function, annual sports day, science exhibition and social science exhibition are also conducted from time to time.

4. The winner of various activities are awarded in Annual function and prize distribution ceremony.


EDUCATIONAL TOUR AND EXCURSION

Picnic excursion and visits to various places of historical and scientific interest and other important places form the salient feature of this institution. Arrangements are also made for educational tour to different parts of the country.

PARENTS-TEACHERS MEET

1. We truly believe that an active partnership of teacher and parents is mandatory for child’s all round development.

2. We organize parent-teacher meeting on the last working day of the month to strengthen the bound between students, teacher and parents.

3. We encourage our parents to voice their opinion and concern and are committed to the success of this important and valuable partnership.

Nursery to Class V:
Peacock Blue half pant for boys and peacock blue tunic (V necked) for girls, white shirt (half sleeve), school tie, belt, socks and black leather shoes.
VI to XII
Peacock blue full pant for boys and peacock blue tunic (V necked) for girls, white shirt (half sleeve), school tie, belt and socks and black leather shoe with laces.

P.T. DRESS

BOYS: White shirt, white pant, school tie, belt, white socks and white canvas shoes.

GIRLS: Half sleeve white shirt, white skirt, school tie, belt, white socks and white canvas shoes.

HOUSE DRESS :- Colored T shirts (according to house), white skirt for girls and white pant for boys, white canvas shoes and white socks.


WINTER

1.Full sleeve white shirt.

2.Full pant (peacock blue and white according to days)

3.Tunic for girls.

4.Navy blue sweater with strip on neck, sleeve and border, and Navy blue woolen blazer.
5.Navy blue scarf muffler or caps.

6.White stocking (girl), white socks (boys)

Note :- The uniform must be neat and clean. Students who are not in proper uniform will not be allowed to be in the class.


MODE OF PAYMENT

1. School and bus fees will be charged for the whole calendar year.

2. Fees should be paid before the 15th of the month with the exception of March and June. Those who fail to pay by 15th will pay on 20th, 25th and 30th only with a fine of Rs. 5, Rs. 10 and Rs. 15 respectively.

3. Fee for the month of March has to be deposited with the fee of February and for June, with the fee of May.

4. The name of defaulters will be struck of from the rolls on the last day of the month, Re-¬entry of names in such cases will be made with a re-admission fee of Rs. 100/- along with all arrears.

5. Fee structure is subject to change at any time without any prior notice.
6. All the fees paid are not refundable.


EXAMINATION AND EVALUATION

The academic year of the school is from April to March split into two terms : first term and second terms. The critical Evaluation of the child's development is based on his or her performance during the academic year.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced the scheme of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in its schools. It refers to a system of school- based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of student's development. The purpose of CCE is to improve the teaching learning process. The report card of evaluation should reflect not only the scholastic aspects of the student, but also life skills acquisition, personality attribute behavior, interest, attitude, value and proficiency in indoor as well as outdoor co-curricular activities.


CLASS 1 TO XII

Marks will be converted into Grades, Session is divided into two terms:

I Term : April to September

1. Formative Assessment I (Based on Activities) - May
2. Formative Assessment II (Based on Activities) - August
3. Summative Assessment I (Written Exam) - September

II Term : October to March

1. Formative Assessment III (Based on Activities)-November
2. Formative Assessment IV (Based on Activities) - January.
3. Summative Assessment II (Written Exam) - February.


WHAT IS FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT?

Activities based Evaluation

1. It is a process used by a teacher to continuously monitor student's progress in non threatening and supportive environment.
2. It is diagnostic and remedial.
3. It provides platform for active involvement of students in their own learning.
4. It provides effective feed back to students and teachers for remedial interventions resulting in enhanced learning and attainment.
4. Some examples in formative assessment include assignment, project, oral quizz, speech, group discussion etc.


WHAT IS SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT ?

Written Examination

1. It is the assessment carried out at the end of a term.
2. It indicates and measures how much a students has learnt.

Evaluation (Class VI to XII)

Rule -1 All assessment with regard to the academic status of the students shall be done

in marks and overall assessment will be given in grade.

Rule - 2 A student has to acquire minimum 'D' grade to get promotion to the next class.

Rule - 3 For using unfair means in the test/examination, no grade will be awarded in that paper and he/she may also be debarred from appearing in the rest of the examination.

Rule - 4A student who is short of attendance (below 80%) will not be allowed to appear in Summative-2/Annual Examination.

Rule-5 Report card of weak student will be retained in the office of the Principal, Parents are requested to come and discuss with the Principal on the specified time.
